say hello to bloom

In October, we will be welcoming our first Trainee onto the Bloom programme, with the invaluable support of The Pilgrim Trust, NHS South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust (SWYPFT) and Creative Minds. Over the next three years, three young women will have the opportunity to take part in a six-month, real living wage traineeship as part of the programme.

Bloom will support young women aged 18-25 in Calderdale with lived experience of mental ill health, addressing barriers faced in cultural careers, while also helping them to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

Hear from Our Team

Our Bloom Project Coordinator, Bryony Rathmell, has a passion for supporting others with their mental health and wellbeing and has shared her insights into the project so far:

“I’m incredibly excited to be working on this one-of-a-kind project offering creative opportunities to young women in Calderdale. I’ve always been an advocate for making support accessible to all, and Bloom will help to lay the foundations for the creative careers of three young women in the creative health sector. The programme will provide a safe and supportive environment for them to explore and develop their own creative practice. I’m looking forward to welcoming the first Bloom Trainee onboard!”

What opportunities are available?

Bloom Trainees will be supported by a female-led team to work, earn and learn at the same time. Through access to work placements in Everybody Arts’ welcoming and inclusive environment, along with other creative health settings, Bloom Trainees will:

  • Explore a range of roles in the creative health sector and develop transferable skills to use in their own practice

  • Work alongside Creative Practitioners and Artist Educators to gain further insight into creative health

  • Have access to a mentor who specialises in creative health and wellbeing practice

  • Receive therapeutic counselling support from a local, qualified professional
