Location: Main location Everybody Arts in Calderdale, with opportunities for work placements across Calderdale and West Yorkshire.
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week (0.5 FTE)
Salary: £24,570 (£12.60 per hour, Real Living Wage)
Contract type: Fixed-term (6 months)
Start date: October 2025
End date: March 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Trainee to be part of our Bloom Programme, a transformative initiative designed to support young people transitioning from children’s to adult social and health services in Calderdale. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Take part in a paid programme to develop their own creative health practice

  • Explore jobs and skills within the creative health sector

  • Work alongside Artist Educators and Creative Practitioners to co-deliver creative health and wellbeing sessions

  • Receive counselling and mentoring support alongside their work

  • Become part of a wider community in the creative health sector through the Bloom Network

Please note that to be considered for the opportunity, you must:

  • Be able to commit 2.5 days a week

  • Not already be receiving similar support or be on a paid opportunity with another organisation

  • Have eligibility to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities

Commitments

  • Dedicate 2.5 days a week to the traineeship, work placements, developing their own creative practice and attending mentoring and counselling support sessions

  • Be flexible and adaptable to attend a range of work placement opportunities in different settings and teams

Engagement with Support and Resources 

  • Engage with the resources and support provided to gain practical experience, tailored support and guidance from creative professionals and other outlets

  • Attend mentoring and counselling sessions to develop creative practice and maintain health and wellbeing

  • Communicate needs and accessibility requirements in a safe and supportive environment and have weekly contact with the Bloom Project Coordinator

Team Collaboration

  • Support the wider delivery team at Everybody Arts and other placement settings, ensuring alignment with organisation values, policies and processes

  • Utilise skills and resources across teams to develop own creative practice and support with professional development

Education Delivery

  • Work with Artist Educators and Creative Practitioners to co-deliver creative-health sessions across placements

  • Develop a portfolio of creative sessions, including session plans, to establish own creative practice

Network Development

  • Engage in the Bloom Network by supporting the establishment and development of a vibrant and creative Community of Practice for young women

  • Create a support system of creative professionals to guide and develop own creative practice and support mental health and wellbeing

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Engage with reporting and case study processes to support the outcome and evaluation of the project

  • Use own autonomy and initiative to enhance the development of their creative practice through resources and mentoring sessions

General Duties

  • Work with colleagues to ensure smooth delivery and interaction of our programmes

  • Be confidential with sensitive information

  • Follow all organisational policies, including safeguarding and GDPR

  • Take part in continuing professional development and training opportunities where required

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • No previous experience or qualifications required, but a passion and interest in the arts and creativity are essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach

  • Competency in a range of technologies and software is desirable, including emails, calendars and video calling platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Google Meet
