Common Ground: An Exhibition Celebrating Health, Connection, and Community

Across the country, in parks, gyms, community centres, and unexpected corners of Calderdale, diverse groups of people come together in pursuit of health and wellness. What they gain goes far beyond physical fitness, as these gatherings become spaces for connection, empowerment, healing and often joy.

In a new exhibition titled Common Ground, local filmmaker and photographer Matt Radcliffe captures these powerful moments through film, photography, and personal artefacts. Each piece in the exhibition will tell a story of individuals and groups who, through sport and activity, have found belonging and resilience in community.

Held over Refugee Week 2025, with its theme of ‘Community as a Superpower’, we’re proud to host this exhibition that shows the strength of Calderdale’s communities.
