Gallery open Wednesday-Saturday, 1-4pm
Artists from St Augustine’s Centre in Halifax have spent the last six weeks exploring the theme of identity. Working with artist Zephie, they have been working with clay to construct ceramic busts, which reflect their inner worlds.
The busts will be on display as part of their residency in The Everybody Gallery, alongside their writings and sketches that have informed the work.
Accompanying the ceramic busts will be a series of images taken by photographer Nic Chapman of St Augustine’s Centre members, who were photographed in the place where they feel most at home in Halifax.
Other pieces of work from centre members will be on display, and people will be able to see work being created in situ by some of the artists.
One of the aims of the project is to platform the voices, stories and creative expression of people who have fled war and persecution, with the hope of fostering understanding and cohesion in our community.
Get Involved
Join us for a celebration event on Wednesday 5 November from 2-5pm, where visitors will be able to hear all about the project and meet some of the artists. There will be refreshments and music from members of St Augustine’s Centre.
This project is kindly supported by the CultureDale Connects Fund.
